Cara and I are currently using these two for our nighttime reading/media. Cara has the 8 and I the 7. In preparing for this review, I read a handful of others take on the 7, and it did not do well. These poor reviews initially tainted my view. After using it for some time, I like the little guy. It’s not nearly as terrible as some of the reviews out there.

Fire 7 vs Fire HD 8 – Conclusion

If quality video and audio are essential, there is a slight upgrade with the 8. Otherwise, I like the 7 and what it offers at the price point. Its good for people who may not watch a lot of videos, or don’t care a lot about video quality. It’s also a tad smaller if you have tiny hands like the president.

Our overall conclusion is the Fire HD 8 over the Fire 7, and the Fire HD 10, only due to the large size of the 10. This one requires “uge” hands.
