The Mpow 059 Lite Bluetooth headset is an entry-level product from Mpow. Overall, our review shows a mixed performance. There is decent sound for listing to music, but so-so phone attributes. For the low price, this headset is worth the purchase.
Midweight over-ear speakers provide rich sound. The sound is light on base but not terrible. A huge plus is the batteries, which last for days.
It pairs quickly and easily and comes partly charged for immediate use.
The microphone is average in quality. The ear-cups have thin walls, which makes some noise when touched. This noise can also happen when moving around or whenever something hits the cup. I noticed it working out and turning my head quickly.
The max volume using my iPhone X and Pandoro was not ear-splitting. I didn’t hear too much in the way of cracks or distortion.

The 059 is a three-button headset. The primary button is a multi-function—some folks like a multi-function button versus numerous controls. The multi-function uses timing and the number of presses to change operations.
The location of the microphone is on the right ear cup. It points forward, so it’s best to have the headset on the right side. Our testers on the other end of the phone said the sound quality is average. They also stated hearing background noise.
My out-of-the-box charge took 25 minutes.
The ear-cups are a soft memory foam padding. They are on the smaller side, which has pros and cons.
- They work well for children.
- They do not interfere as much with glasses.
- The noise-canceling isn’t as good.
- Your ears can get fatigued.
The inside of the headband has the same memory foam padding.
I wore them for a few hours without too much fatigue.
The online reviews match with our conclusion – a decent headset for the price. It is first a music headset with a phone second. The pros far outweigh the cons, and the price point is so low you really can’t go wrong—workouts, back-up set, yard work, or for the kids.
